On Saturday, 31 May 2008, the Woodbridge Township Community Emergency Response Team assisted at the first Annual Avenel Community Day celebration.

Even though Middlesex County Office of Emergency Management was on alert due to the pending bad weather, they were kind enough to supply equipment and personnel to assist.
