David Frantz

David is a native of Woodbridge and was educated in the Woodbridge Township School system.  After leaving Woodbridge to serve in the military, he has returned to Woodbridge to raise a family.  David, his wife Ellin, their children and grandchildren all currently reside in Woodbridge.  The Frantz family belongs to St. James parish and David is a member of the Knight of Columbus.  He enjoys fishing, camping, and woodworking in his spare time.

Service in the United States Coast Guard and the United States Air Force provided training in search and rescue, firefighting, HAZMAT, emergency medicine, diving and aviation medicine, environmental health and disaster preparedness.  He also was the trainer for the tactical, aircraft emergency and disaster medical response team.  He was tasked to provide medical support for Air Force, Army and Navy teams in a variety of situations both in the United States and while deployed.

David’s involvement in civilian emergency services began in 1982 with the Woodbridge Emergency Squad.  He has served as an EMT, NREMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-D, EMT-I and as a firefighter in New Jersey and South Carolina.  His response experiences range from routine fire and EMS responses to aircraft accidents and a Category 4 hurricane.

He is currently employed by Concentra Medical Centers in Edison, New Jersey as the Clinical Coordinator.  His facility provides emergent and routine medical services in the areas of occupational medicine and industrial safety.  In addition to his clinical duties he has provided training for staff members and clients on a variety of safety and health topics.  David also works for New Jersey Blood Services as a Donor Specialist, collecting blood and blood products to help meet the needs of the community.

David is currently certified as a New Jersey EMT-B which includes CPR/AED and as an ASHI instructor.

CERT offers a way to give back to the community.  While most individuals cannot change the world, only a few ever have and not always for the better.  But everyone does have the ability and responsibility to make their part of the world a little better and a little safer; and that is what CERT is all about.
