Educating our residents and protecting our community

Debra Hutt

Debra was born in Perth Amboy, and she is proud to point out it was on a Friday the 13th.

She was educated in the Woodbridge Township school system from grades K through 12.

While attending Lynn University in Florida, Debra was active in the Drama club.  At Franklin Pierce University she was active in the First Aid Club, Karate club and the Fire Department.

Debra earned her Baccalaureate in Sociology from Kean University in 1990.

She is an active member of NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness). She has attended national and state conventions.  By doing so she found great strength in herself and developed a great love and appreciation for her family and all they had done for her.

In 2000, Debra was recognized by NAMI NJ for her volunteer efforts.

While in college she took great pride in working at “Helping Hands Nursery School” as a teacher’s assistant.

After Debra graduated she went to work for her father, Stewart Hutt, at his law firm.  He offered her a “Summer Job”. That was 1990; it is now the longest SUMMER JOB on record!

Debra’s brother, David Hutt and his partner, Ronald Shimanowitz, now run the firm. She has been an active and enthusiastic member of CERT and feels that she has found “a home” with the team.  She says that she is proud to be a volunteer, patriotic, and able to help her hometown neighbors.
