Skip was born in Rahway and raised in Woodbridge.  He met his wife, Sherry (also a Woodbridge Township CERT member) while they were both attending Woodbridge High School.  They have been married for thirty-eight years and they consider each other “their best friend”.  Skip also graduated as “Student of the Year” from Stewart Business School in Asbury Park.

Skip was drafted into the United States Army in 1967 and was discharged in 1969.  He worked at New Jersey Bell for thirty-seven years.

He and Sherry have two daughters, Kristie Lee Manete, whose husband Dean is an Avenel firefighter and fire commissioner.  He is also Assistant Chief at the Merck Fire Department; and Kirsten Lynn Rodriguez.  Kirsten’s husband, John is a computer technician for Jersey Controls.

Skip and Sherry are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren.

Skip has lived in Colonia for thirty-three years.  He loves to hunt and fish and spend time with the kids when he can.
