Doc is a 1963 graduate of the University of Connecticut where he received his BA in Physics, with a minor in math.  He received his Masters degree from Wisconsin State University, Superior, in 1970, majoring in Physics with a minor in Science Education.

Doc has done graduate work at the New Mexico State University, NSF Physics; Sam Houston State University, NSF Astrophysics; Stevens Institute of Technology, NSF Energy and Conservation; Penn State University, NSF Nuclear Physics; University of Iowa, NSF Science Curriculum Update; East Stroudsburg University, Computer Programming; University of Nebraska, PTRA/NSF/AAPT Physics Education; University of Guelph, Canada, PTRA/NSF/AAPT Physics Education; Rochester Institute of Technology, PTRA/NSF/AAPT Physics Education; and University of Idaho, PTRA/NSF/AAPT Physics Education.

He has received the following awards and recognitions: Quest of Excellence (three different years); Middlesex County Man of the Year (GMCWCA); New Jersey Teacher of the Year; and induction into Sigma Xi for support of science research.

Before retiring from active employment, Doc was a Science teacher at Woodbridge High School from 1963 to 2006 teaching Physics, Chemistry, and Astronomy.  He was an assistant wrestling coach from 1964 to 1974, Chairman of the Science Department from 1975 to 2006.  He is an NJSIAA Wrestling, Soccer, Track and Field official from 1980 to the present, and is President of Central Jersey Wrestling Officials Association.

Doc is a member of the National Science Supervisors Association; National Science Teachers Association; American Association of Physics Teachers; Nuclear Science Teachers Association; National Physics Honor Society (Sigma Pi Sigma); Physics Teachers Resource Agent; Chemical Hygiene Officer for Woodbridge High School; Past President of the Community Advisory Panel of Woodbridge Township; Woodbridge Township Community Emergency Response Team.
