Janet was born and raised in Fords.  She fulfilled a childhood dream by moving to California and living in San Jose.  However, even the palm trees, climate, and charisma of California could not take the place of home, so she packed her bags and came back to good old Fords.  Janet attended School 7, Fords Middle School, and graduated from Woodbridge High School.  While attending high school, she worked at Hahnes and S. Klein.  Her father was a veteran of World War II and following the war worked as a civilian for the United States Coast Guard as a diesel mechanic assigned to lighthouses along the east coast.  Her mother was an administrator in the accounting department at Johnson and Johnson.  Both of her parents were active members of the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, and their church.  Janet was also a Girl Scout and her mother was a Scout Leader.

Following high school, Janet held several jobs including supervising the loading of tractor-trailers for a trucking company and secretary for a medical supply company.  For seventeen years she worked as a secretary at the University of Medicine and Dentistry.  For eleven years she worked in the Behavioral Health Clinic in Piscataway where her duties included documenting and transcribing doctor’s reports, arranging transportation to other facilities, and recording interviews with patients.  She then transferred to UMDNJ in New Brunswick where she was an administrative assistant in the Infectious Disease department.  Here her duties included scheduling, transcribing doctor’s reports, coordinating travel, expense reports, and purchase orders.

Currently, she is enrolled in Berkley College in Woodbridge at advance her skills and training in the business and computer fields.  She is also a substitute secretary and paraprofessional for the Woodbridge Township Board of Education.

Janet is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fords where she serves as a Deacon and has also been an Elder in the congregation.  Janet is also a Past Matron and Past Grand Officer of The Order of the Eastern Star, Raritan Chapter in South River.
