John retired from Verizon in 2001 with thirty-four years of service.  He is currently working as a veterinary technician at the St. George Animal Hospital and a substitute teacher with the Woodbridge Township Board of Education.

He is married and has two children and three granddaughters.  He is also quick to point out that he has three German shepherd dogs.

John is actively involved with the Telephone Pioneers of America, helping in many community service projects.  He is also actively involved with the Garden State German Shepherd Rescue Group, helping with fostering dogs and fund raising.  He was a member of the Rahway First Aid Squad.

John likes to travel and camp with his dogs in his motor home.  He also likes to do some woodworking and puttering around the house.
