Marty was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and has been a Colonia resident for the past twenty years.  Marty’s wife Carol was also born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  They are extremely proud of their daughter Brittany, a Rutgers University student Class of 2008, and their son Ryan (also a CERT member), a Colonia High School student Class of 2008.

Marty earned his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York in 1978, and holds Professional Engineer licenses in New Jersey and New York.  He has worked in the Engineering Design and Construction Department of the NYC Transit Authority for the past twenty years.

Marty is also licensed in New Jersey as a Professional Home Inspector,  a Radon Measurement Technician,  a Commercial Pesticide Applicator (Certification 7B—Termite and other Wood Destroying Insects)  and is an ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) Certified Home Inspector.  Marty and his wife Carol own and have operated their part time business, MCR Building Inspections, Inc., since 1992.

Marty serves as a leader in his son’s Boy Scout Troop #143, Woodbridge;  serves as House Chairman at Temple Beth ‘Or , Clark, NJ;  and is a member of the Colonia High School Marching Band Parents Organization.
